HOW TO BECOME A TAYBEAR HOSPITAL

imageOur goal is to give teddy bears to children fighting cancer or a chronic blood disorders during some pretty scary times. To reach our goal I decided that the best way would be to donate the bears directly to the hospitals treating the kids. The Child Life Specialist, Nurses or Doctors are the people that know the kids and care for them as they go through their treatment. I felt that it's best for the hospitals to decide when is the best time to give a patient a TayBear. Maybe it's before a big procedure, during an MRI or just because. But I have learned how much care and love these kids get from the hospital staff and I'm amazed at their compassion.

That's why I normally don't deliver the bears myself. It's not about hearing thank you. It's about letting the kids know that lots of people care about them and want to see them get better from someone they know and need to trust.

For the hospitals that I haven't donated to yet... It might be because I don't know about you or can't find the right person on staff that will help me to organize my project at their hospital. Because I'm in school during the day, it's hard to make phone calls during normal business hours. So if you would like to be a TayBear Hospital, please let me know.
